Omok
한국어Players take turns placing stones on an empty board, and the first to connect five in a row, column or diagonal wins. That much is plain Gomoku (Omok in Korean). What makes this board different is that you choose one extra rule for the day and lay it on top.
Three of the 6 candidate rules are drawn for the day. You ban one and pick one. Everyone gets the same three on the same day, so what you ban and what you pick is where the skill is.

How this board works
There is no randomness. The candidates are set by the date, and the opponent always plays the same moves on the same board. A lost game is not bad luck but the wrong order of moves, so memorizing the board makes you better.
Grow only your own line and you lose. When the opponent connects four you have to block. In our simulation, the side that never blocked and only extended its own line lost to the side that was thinking about both. You win by watching attack and defense together.
A rule never kills the board. Whatever rule is on top, you will never run out of legal squares. If narrowing would leave nothing, the narrowing is not applied.
We do not count streaks. Nothing is said about the days you did not come.
